Pie chart works only with one measure and one dimension. It doesn't show any trend, but shows breakdown of a measure by a set of dimensions. You can think about dimension as an attribute related to a measure, e.g. measure
userCount can have dimensions like
occupation and etc.
Create Pie Chart
Simply choose one measure and one dimension to create pie chart. Adjust date range and time dimension if needed.
User can display total of the measure by ticking the appropriate box in the settings.
701 in the example below.
Show Legend at the bottom
By default legend is always on the right from the pie chart. You can place it at the bottom using settings.
Enable aggregation into Other
By default, this option is always enabled in pie charts, and Max Series is 19. This means that pie chart will represent top 19 attributes of dimensions, and group all other remaining into
User can disable this setting and get a full breakdown represented in a pie chart.
Max series can also be adjusted. In the example below we change it from
19 to 5 in order to find out what are the top 5 suppliers based on the orders that has been placed in our store for the last 30 days.
Label format is always set to percent by default. It can be changed to a number in settings.
You could also hide labels from a pie chart. In this case values will be displayed only when you navigate cursor to a dimension on a pie chart.
Hiding a certain set of dimension on a pie chart.
By pressing on the certain part of dimension you could hide/unhide it from the pie chart visualisation. See example below.
With SQL as a data source, you can configure drill down. Drill down is a powerful feature to facilitate data exploration. It allows users to dive deeper into visualisations and data tables. You can define what data to show along when using drill down in data schemas. Take a look how it looks like from visualisation standpoint.
Drill down from total. In this case we can see data only related to a measure for selected period (
last 30 daysin the example below).
Drill down from dimension. This option allows to see data related to specific measure user chooses.
